Gingerbread Man Ten Frame Freebie from HeidiSongs

Happy Holidays!  We have decided to give you the gift of one free download per day from now until December 19th!  And today’s freebie is a complete set of Gingerbread Man Ten Frames in color AND in black and white!  We hope that you and your little ones will enjoy this resource and the ones coming!  (Pss:  They ALL have a Gingerbread Man theme!)

If you are wondering why we are doing this, well, I’ll go ahead and tell you!  First of all, we really appreciate YOU, our fans and customers!

Second, we are going to highlight one product in each post that might make a nice educational gift for a child you know.  Please feel free to pass these gift ideas along to friends, family, and parents of students or children in your care.  Remember, the more that children learn at home, the easier the job of the teacher or child care worker will be!

Do you know what you can do with ten frames?

Ten frames are a great way to help children build number sense.  Holiday themed ten frames can make math practice a little bit more fun and interesting for you and your students during the holiday season, or whenever you choose to use them!

Some examples of use are:
“Write It and Build It.” Have children write equations to match the ten frame and build them with manipulatives. The first ten frame below would be 5 + 5 = 10; the second ten frame below it would be 5 + 4 = 9

Play “Show Me, Tell Me.”  Show the children the ten frame, and have them practice showing you how many fingers it represents.
Play “Go Fish for Ten” with ten frame cards. This plays like the traditional version of Go Fish, but children must try to get two cards that make ten, rather than two matching cards.

Our featured educational gift idea for today is our Colors and Shapes DVD!

This DVD is perfect for home use because it has fun animations to help keep children interested and engaged without any prompting from adults.  This is especially good for those reluctant learners!  This DVD helps kids learn the eleven basic colors, color words, and nine basic shapes, so it is a preschool staple, and it’s just $15.
