Hello, and happy holidays! Welcome to day six in our 12 Days of Holiday Freebies! Today’s freebie is a Count & Draw the Gumdrops Gingerbread Man activity and follow up worksheet! It is similar to the one that I posted a few days ago, but in this case, the children are reading the number and drawing their own gumdrops rather than writing the numeral.
My recommended lesson plan with this activity is to start with activity that I provided in the previous post shown below. Show the children a number, and have them put the correct number of gumdrops on the Gingerbread Men.
Once they have that down, then you can have them switch to doing it on paper, which of course is known as the pictorial representation of the concept.
You can download this follow up worksheet here!
Are you looking for a gift for a child or a teacher in your life? Here is a book that would make a wonderful educational gift that would be perfect for a child from preschool to first grade!
I love the 1-100 Book because it is kind of like a “Hunt and Find” or “I Spy” book, but with numbers! The children in my class seemed to just love to grab a the book and sit with a friend and see if they could find all of the numbers in the book, from one to one hundred in order! And since they are divided up into sets of ten on each opened “spread” in the book, it’s not hard to find them!
I especially loved having multiple copies in my classroom library, because the children would sit together with several kids together, each with a copy in their laps and all try and find the numbers. Since the book is only $6, it would be a relatively easy gift to give to a teacher you know!
