This CVC Words and Sounds Cookie Sheet Bundle Activity with Plastic Letters, opens in a new tab is a fun and easy way for young children to practice finding the beginning, middle, and ending sounds of CVC words, and then practice spelling the whole word. When we used this in my classroom, I had GREAT results!
Kids love using plastic letters, especially when they are magnetic! So the activity is even more engaging by providing a cookie sheet or other board that attracts the magnetic letters! However, the file also has some printable letters so that kids could also do this at home or school without them. This activity is perfect for children in Pre-K, Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, and First Grade!
Objective:
Children will isolate and find the beginning, ending, and middle sounds of each CVC word. Finally, children will spell the entire CVC word by listening for all of the sounds in the word.
